Fix SKYUI Error Code 5
SKYUi Error Code 5 happens when a file is overriding SKYUI. If you have installed map/inventory mods like QD Inventory SSE, Pastel Map Markers, etc. Simply check the warning in MCM. In case you have not installed such type of mods, you need to check Data/Interface folder to find any loose files. Either delete those files or find out which mod has installed them. Also, disable the favorites menu in the mod manager section from the settings.
Many times, SKYUI_SE gets disabled when it has no master file set. There may be an issue with Bethesda’s in the manager of game mod. Whenever you try to load the game and go to the mods menu, SKYUI will get disabled. You may use a third-party manager if you have decided to use complex mods such a skse and SKYUI.
Another thing you can do is to check that the * sign is to towards the left side of the ESP’s first character that you are activating. It should not be on the right side of “p” which is at the end of the previous .esp. If you arrow key between the two, you will be able to see an invisible character.
If you disable anything in the MCM menu, it will only stop the error message. When you are getting an incompatible menu file error, go to the Skyrim director. From there click on the Data folder and go to Interface. Look for the file name that was displayed in the error message such as favoritemenu.swf. Cut out this file from the interface folder of Skyrim. Make an “interface backup” folder anywhere. Now paste the interface backup in that folder. If you want to delete it, you can do that also.
